“The Dwarves, Bilbo and Gandalf have successfully escaped the Misty Mountains, and Bilbo has gained the One Ring. They all continue their journey to get their gold back from the Dragon, Smaug.” (IMDB)
Because I have not seen the first installment of The Hobbit trilogy there isn’t really much I can say about this film other than this second installment looks much more interesting than the first and now I actually want to watch them both. I was never a huge fan of The Lord of the Rings. However, I did enjoy watching them for the first and last time. Movies like this tend to seem too drawn out and long-winded and I am more of a fan of films that maintain a good balance of action and dialogue. Albeit, I will probably not go to the theater to see this movie, I will probably RedBox it once it is available. I think the elves were my favorite characters in The Lord of the Rings trilogy so bringing back Orlando Blooms’ character for this installment was definitely a plus in my book. And although livening up the plot with more action makes viewing the film more desirable to me. It just isn’t desirable enough to sit for close to three hours in a theater to watch the tale unfold. Watch the trailer below and let me know if you’re willing to endure The Hobbit’s long journey on the silver screen.
