Known for his public outbursts, unpopular opinions and controversial relationship with reality star Kim Kardashian, Kanye West is no stranger to controversy. But, when his “friend” (late night talk show host Jimmy Kimmel) spoofed a portion of his BBC interview with Zane Lowe, Kanye came out of Twitter hiatus to display his outrage of the skit. This, of course, led to a live Twitter dispute between Kanye and Kimmel that made some people question its authenticity. In the age of social media publicity stunts and faux fights, it is quite hard to tell what is genuine beef versus staged banter strategically set up to increase ratings or heighten one’s street cred.
