We at Thee Arteest love receiving positive and thought-provoking new music from local artists. So when our good friend/singer/rapper Husky Hazel sent us his new song titled “Uproar” which features production from Da Arc Angeal and is one of the singles from his Sailuropoda project (slated for second quarter release in 2014) we were delighted to share this with our readers. The genre-bending record sonically pulls from rock, hip-hop, and r&b influences while purveying lyrics that touch on everything from Trayvon Martin to the Y.O.L.O. movement. But, if the lyrics of the song do not resound in your temporal lobe, Hazel’s r&b crooning of the hook are sure to surprise you. Carrying a Wanya Morris (lead singer of Boyz II Men) feel, Hazel is as equally talented at singing as he is at rapping and his musical prowess is displayed all over “Uproar”. So check it out and if you like it be sure to follow Husky Hazel on his social media: Reverbnation, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and Instagram.

“Wasn’t trying to make a social awareness record….but if it speaks to you, respond in action.” ~ Husky Hazel
