Dr. Will Caster (Johnny Depp) is the foremost researcher in the field of Artificial Intelligence, working to create a sentient machine that combines the collective intelligence of everything ever known with the full range of human emotions.  His highly controversial experiments have made him famous, but they have also made him the prime target of anti-technology extremists who will do whatever it takes to stop him.

However, in their attempt to destroy Will, they inadvertently become the catalyst for him to succeed—to be a participant in his own transcendence.  For his wife Evelyn (Rebecca Hall) and best friend Max Waters (Paul Bettany), both fellow researchers, the question is not if they can…but if they should.

Their worst fears are realized as Will’s thirst for knowledge evolves into a seemingly omnipresent quest for power, to what end is unknown.  The only thing that is becoming terrifyingly clear is there may be no way to stop him. [Source]

The unexpected duo Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum are back to take down drug dealing students for the second time around. But this time they’re quirky and often dangerous antics have landed them in college in the 2014 followup to 21 Jump Street. If the sequel is anything like the first, I know we’re in for lots of laughs and a good time and although the plot seems oddly similar to its predecessor, Hill and Tatum’s on-screen chemistry is so outlandish that it makes for great entertainment. The fact that Ice Cube and Brad Pitt also star in this film and it seems equipped with just enough shoot-em-up action to qualify as an action/comedy are just added bonuses for me. So if you like the comedic stylings of the unexpected duo check out the trailer for 22 Jump Street below and be sure to have your popcorn and friends in the theater on June 13, 2014.

After making their way through high school (twice), big changes are in store for officers Schmidt (Jonah Hill) and Jenko (Channing Tatum) when they go deep undercover at a local college. But when Jenko meets a kindred spirit on the football team, and Schmidt infiltrates the bohemian art major scene, they begin to question their partnership. Now they don’t have to just crack the case – they have to figure out if they can have a mature relationship. If these two overgrown adolescents can grow from freshmen into real men, college might be the best thing that ever happened to them.” MovieClips Trailers

Just when you thought Jeff Bridges had undergone his final supernatural duel, he goes and battles “ginormous” dragons, beastly ghouls, and a witch in the form of Julianne Moore in Seventh Son, the film adaptation of Joseph Delaney’s novel “The Last Apprentice“. Though I know absolutely nothing about the book series, I can say that this film has gotten my attention. I love fantasy films with monsters and creatures and crazy battles, so this is definitely my kind of movie. And for The Big Lebowski to be so old, he’s still giving the silver screen a run for its money.

Considering the successes of book-to-film adaptations “Harry Potter”, “Percy Jackson”, and the “Twilight” series, I’m curious to know if this is just the beginning of many more film adaptations of “The Last Apprentice” book series. I guess time and the monetary success of the movie will tell.

A 18th century adventure story centered on young Thomas, who is apprenticed to the local Spook to learn to fight evil spirits. His first great challenge comes when the powerful Mother Malkin escapes her confinement while the Spook is away. (

Check out the movie trailer below and let us know what you think of Sergei Bodrov’s Seventh Son.

Liam Neeson is back ladies and gentleman. But, this time he’s using his “very particular set of skills” as an air marshall simultaneously set out to save the passengers on the same plane he is being framed as a terrorist of. Crazy huh? Intrigued yet? You should be. Check him out in the trailer for Non-Stop below and let me know if you will be going to the theater on February 28th, 2014 to see Mr. Taken himself spring into action on the big screen.

For all of you race car gamers who have begged and pleaded for a Need For Speed movie, it appears the cinema gods (DreamWorks Pictures) have finally responded to your whimpering in the form of an action-packed high-end racing flick that’ll even give the vehicles from Fast and the Furious a run for their money. Need For Speed the movie takes gamers into the live action world of high stakes tournament racing. Although it is Fast and the Furios-esque, this ladies and gentleman is a totally different beast.

In the trailer we see Tobey Marshall, the lead character played by Aaron Paul (Breaking Bad, The Last House on the Left) racing across country against multiple supercars and a barrage of police. From all of the crashes, explosions and angry facial expressions on Marshall’s face, Need For Speed the movie looks to be a fast-paced, heart-pounder with a grab bag of mayhem, vengeance and retribution all wrapped up into one hell of a film. Let me be the first to say, “Thank You Cinema Gods! We appreciate this gift and will not disappoint you on March 14, 2014.” Also, “Please Don’t Crash The Bugatti!” As far as the plot and the acting in the film, I already know it won’t be oscar worthy. But, that’s not why you go to see a movie like this. With that said, I’ve done too much typing already. Let’s allow the movie trailer to speak for itself and as usual let me know what you think by leaving a comment in the comments section.

That’s right folks, the tale of Detroit’s half man, half machine law enforcer has been revamped for a 2014 audience. This time around he’s been given a new, upgraded exterior and is equipped to put baddies in their place in the year 2028. Robocop jumps back onto the big screen on February 7th of next year boasting a full roster of talented actors. Check out the trailer below and let me know if you’ll be taking your Valentine out to see this one.

It’s looking like 2014 will be a great year for Kevin Hart (About Last Night). Ice Cube joins him in the new comedy Ride Along for lots of laughs and some action as well. Anything Kevin Hart touches turns to comedic gold these days and it doesn’t seem like his Midas Touch will be leaving anytime soon. I will be going to the theater to see this film. Check out the preview below and let me know if you will too.

“The Greek general Themistocles battles an invading army of Persians under the mortal-turned-god, Xerxes.” (IMDB)

2006: I remember waiting in line with my college roommates for over an hour to see the original 300 for free at an early screening at the University of Maryland’s Hoff Theater. It was my freshman year and I remember everyone in line so energized to watch 300 Spartans battle it out against Xerxes and his vast  Persian empire. The occasional college crowd cheers and gasps for air as we watched arrow after arrow and sword upon sword being thrust upon the Persian empire definitely heightened the level of excitement for the evening. That night we left the theater wanting to kick people into giant holes in the ground and shout, “This Is Sparta!!!!” repeatedly. It was a gloriously good time. 2014: I know I won’t be waiting in a super long line. Nor will I see the film for free. (Unless my dad decides he wants to pay for my ticket. LoL) But, I do know that I will be with friends and family and action film enthusiasts alike to watch The Rise of An Empire. If you haven’t seen the first 300, I highly advise you to. And if you have, I highly advise you watch the preview below and comment below to let me know if you’re planning on hitting the theater on March 7th, 2014 to watch this “battle of epic proportions.”
