Jupiter Ascending [Official Movie Trailer (2014)]

Channing Tatum as a genetically engineered interplanetary hybrid wolf-human soldier stated to be the “perfect hunting machine”? Mila Kunis as an earth dwelling cleaning lady who is genetically marked for rule in a universal ‘queendom’? Sound crazy enough yet? Well, from the mind of Lana Wachowski (formerly known as Laurence (Larry) Wachowski) and Andy Wachowski–you may know them as the creatives behind The Matrix Trilogy, Speed Racer, and Cloud Atlas…to name a few–comes the original sci-fi/action/thriller of the future. They have labeled this as a teaser trailer, but this is more of an official trailer to me. It shows a lot of the film, but still leaves enough of the plot out to spark my interest and attract a science fiction film lover like myself. As a fan of the Wachowski siblings, I am glad to see them add another action film under their belts and look forward to seeing more about this movie. Jupiter Ascending opens July 25th, 2014 and with its “groundbreaking” cinematography, stunts, and computer graphics Channing Tatum has been vocal about, I will be sure to have my ticket in hand on opening weekend. Check out the official Warner Bros. synopsis and the trailer below!

Jupiter Jones (Mila Kunis) was born under a night sky, with signs predicting
that she was destined for great things. Now grown, Jupiter dreams of the stars
but wakes up to the cold reality of a job cleaning toilets and an endless run of
bad breaks. Only when Caine (Channing Tatum), a genetically engineered
ex-military hunter, arrives on Earth to track her down does Jupiter begin to
glimpse the fate that has been waiting for her all along—her genetic signature
marks her as next in line for an extraordinary inheritance that could alter the
balance of the cosmos.

A Haunted House 2 [Official 2014 Movie Trailer]

Marlon Wayans is back in the follow-up to his hilarious comedy horror spoof A Haunted House. While I usually don’t like sequels that do the same plot over again, considering how funny the first one was I am excited to see this. If there is anything I’ve learned from the first one it is that there will be a cameo or two in this film and it will be hilariously over-the-top. A Haunted House 2 stars Marlon Wayans, Cedric The Entertainer,  and the fluffy man himself Gabriel Iglesias and is scheduled to release March 28th, 2014.

The Raid 2: Berandal (Official Red Band Movie Trailer #1 [2014])

Having had the pleasure of seeing the awesomeness that is the first entry of The Raid series and without even knowing the plot of this sequel, I already know I need to see this film. Some of my favorite films are action movies and with all of the fighting, gun play, and all around bloodshed, The Raid 2 might just be a great intro to an epic night out with the fellas. This testosterone injected behemoth looks sure to please any being with a love of Grand Theft Auto 5,  beer and movies that kick ass, and that to me says we have a winner. Check out the violently intriguing Red Band trailer of The Raid 2: Berandal below.

Epic Creatures, Killer Fight Scenes and Enormous Monsters: SEVENTH SON [Official 2014 Trailer]

Just when you thought Jeff Bridges had undergone his final supernatural duel, he goes and battles “ginormous” dragons, beastly ghouls, and a witch in the form of Julianne Moore in Seventh Son, the film adaptation of Joseph Delaney’s novel “The Last Apprentice“. Though I know absolutely nothing about the book series, I can say that this film has gotten my attention. I love fantasy films with monsters and creatures and crazy battles, so this is definitely my kind of movie. And for The Big Lebowski to be so old, he’s still giving the silver screen a run for its money.

Considering the successes of book-to-film adaptations “Harry Potter”, “Percy Jackson”, and the “Twilight” series, I’m curious to know if this is just the beginning of many more film adaptations of “The Last Apprentice” book series. I guess time and the monetary success of the movie will tell.

This Looks Bad Ass! Captain America: The Winter Soldier [2014 UK Official Movie Trailer]

Ok. So we all know the first Captain America was kind of a letdown…Or maybe that’s just how I felt. Anyway, Marvel recently released the UK trailer for the Captain America sequel and after watching it, I can tell you that this is a huge step up from the first one. With more action scenes, better actors, and new characters, this looks like it’s going to do numbers for Marvel in the first quarter of 2014. I didn’t want to see the first installment at the theater, but after watching this preview, I definitely want to see this one. Check out Chris Evans (Captain America), Scarlett Johansson (Black Widow) and Anthony Mackie (The Falcon) kicking some bad guy ass and causing mayhem in Captain America: The Winter Soldier.

After the cataclysmic events in New York with The Avengers, Marvel’s “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” finds Steve Rogers, aka Captain America, living quietly in Washington, D.C. and trying to adjust to the modern world. But when a S.H.I.E.L.D. colleague comes under attack, Steve becomes embroiled in a web of intrigue that threatens to put the world at risk. Joining forces with the Black Widow, Captain America struggles to expose the ever-widening conspiracy while fighting off professional assassins sent to silence him at every turn. When the full scope of the villainous plot is revealed, Captain America and the Black Widow enlist the help of a new ally, the Falcon. However, they soon find themselves up against an unexpected and formidable enemy—the Winter Soldier. (Marvel UK’s Youtube Channel)

The Paranormal Activity Franchise Gets a New Look [2014 Movie Trailer]

Yes, you read that headline correctly. It appears the creators of the Paranormal Activity franchise are taking the major spotlight off of the family of the original castmembers and are redirecting the curse on a different group of unsuspecting victims. While the setting of the film is still California, the cast of next year’s Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones is an all Latino cast, giving the franchise a more diverse appeal. Not that the film needed diversity. I mean, we were all just fine watching Katie’s family go to shambles at the hand of the occult…or whatever those freaky little happenings they were having with the kids was. But, nonetheless I can’t say i’m not happy to see a more cultured version of the franchise and from the looks of the trailer the new cast tie in pretty well with their predecessors. So, at least this installment won’t feel forced or as such a huge departure as Halloween III: Season of the Witch (snore fest) was from every single other Halloween film in the franchise. Although this installment is a spinoff, I think this is what the franchise needed to remove the blatant “Katie’s family is haunted” redundancy from the audiences view and refresh the series.

Liam Neeson is back ladies and gentleman. But, this time he’s using his “very particular set of skills” as an air marshall simultaneously set out to save the passengers on the same plane he is being framed as a terrorist of. Crazy huh? Intrigued yet? You should be. NEED FOR SPEED [ 2014 Movie Trailer]

For all of you race car gamers who have begged and pleaded for a Need For Speed movie, it appears the cinema gods (DreamWorks Pictures) have finally responded to your whimpering in the form of an action-packed high-end racing flick that’ll even give the vehicles from Fast and the Furious a run for their money. Need For Speed the movie takes gamers into the live action world of high stakes tournament racing. Although it is Fast and the Furios-esque, this ladies and gentleman is a totally different beast.

In the trailer we see Tobey Marshall, the lead character played by Aaron Paul (Breaking Bad, The Last House on the Left) racing across country against multiple supercars and a barrage of police. From all of the crashes, explosions and angry facial expressions on Marshall’s face, Need For Speed the movie looks to be a fast-paced, heart-pounder with a grab bag of mayhem, vengeance and retribution all wrapped up into one hell of a film. Let me be the first to say, “Thank You Cinema Gods! We appreciate this gift and will not disappoint you on March 14, 2014.” Also, “Please Don’t Crash The Bugatti!” As far as the plot and the acting in the film, I already know it won’t be oscar worthy. But, that’s not why you go to see a movie like this. With that said, I’ve done too much typing already. Let’s allow the movie trailer to speak for itself and as usual let me know what you think by leaving a comment in the comments section.
